Ewelina Fanfara

Ewelina Fanfara is a teacher at Lakeshore Catholic High School in Port Colborne.  She is a graduate of Brock University and holds an Honours Degree in Visual Arts and a Bachelor of Education.  While studying, she worked as an art educator for the Niagara Falls Art Gallery as well as a curator for the Niagara Youth Gallery.

Throughout her years teaching, she has created many partnerships within the art community and cultivated public interest in the arts at Lakeshore Catholic High School. Participating in various art shows, painting window and wall murals in the school as well as downtown Port Colborne, spearheading Lakeshore Catholic’s first annual art show, designing and painting sets and floats for school events, organizing for student art work to be showcased in the local community as well as the Ontario College of Teachers and turning furniture into artwork as part of the “Chair Affair” project by the Niagara Furniture Bank are just a few of the initiatives she has lead as not only a teacher but an artist.

Ewelina was also last year’s curator of the Young Artists Gallery put on by the Niagara Catholic District School Board held at the Catholic Education Centre.  Apart from that experience, Ewelina keeps busy painting commissioned work on a regular basis.
